چکیده
Abstract As volcanoes are closely related to the living environment of humans, in particular via natural hazards and geothermal energy, scientific studies on volcanic edifice structures required. Ulleung Island is a Quaternary island located mid-western East Sea (Sea Japan). In this study, we conducted an audio-frequency magnetotelluric (AMT) survey image substructure edifice. addition, electrical structure was interpreted from system perspective, geochemical compositions rocks, possibility presence magma reservoir. AMT data were obtained 25 stations processed using remote reference technique. Then, three-dimensional (3-D) approach reasonably adopted according dimensionality analysis. Before conducting 3-D inversion, effects topography ocean analyzed simplified synthetic model, because surrounded by sea undulating. Japan/East Sea model predictability
Three major input uncertainties (initial velocity field, open boundary conditions, and atmospheric forcing) limit the ocean modeling capability. The Princeton Ocean Model (POM) implemented to the Japan/East Sea (JES) is used to investigate the ocean predictability due to the input uncertainties. Two-step (pre-simulation and simulation) initialization is used to obtain ‘‘standard initial velocit...
متن کاملNonseasonal sea level variations in the Japan/East Sea from satellite altimeter data
[1] A merged TOPEX/POSEIDON and ERS-1/2 altimeter data set is used to estimate nonseasonal variations of sea surface height (SSH) in the Japan/East Sea (JES) from October 1992 through February 2002. The altimeter data have a good correlation (0.95) with tide gauge data in the western JES. The nonseasonal variability of the SSH is higher in the southern warm region than in the northern cold regi...
متن کاملSources and fluxes of organic nitrogen in precipitation over the southern East Sea/Sea of Japan
We measured total dissolved reactive nitrogen in precipitation samples collected at Uljin, a Korean coastal site upwind of the southern East Sea/Sea of Japan (EJS), selected as a representative study site of atmospheric deposition over the northwestern Pacific margin. NO−3 was found to be the most abundant nitrogen species, followed by NH+4 and dissolved organic nitrogen (DON). Air-mass back-tr...
متن کاملPhylogenetic Relationships of the Fern Cyrtomium falcatum (Dryopteridaceae) from Dokdo Island, Sea of East Japan, Based on Chloroplast Genome Sequencing.
Cyrtomium falcatum is a popular ornamental fern cultivated worldwide. Native to the Korean Peninsula, Japan, and Dokdo Island in the Sea of Japan, it is the only fern present on Dokdo Island. We isolated and characterized the chloroplast (cp) genome of C. falcatum, and compared it with those of closely related species. The genes trnV-GAC and trnV-GAU were found to be present within the cp genom...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
